THAMES PATH - SOURCE TO OXFORD
This album contains images of The Thames Path National Trail from its source at Thames Head about a mile from Kemble in Gloucestershire to Oxford. The source can often be completely dry as seen in these photographs but the river soon develops so that by Lechlade it is a substantial river. The river winds through flat and remote farming land and water parks for most of this stretch. It is generally navigable from just above Lechlade. Apart from Kemble railway station near the source there is little regular public transport along this 50 mile section. There are a number of well known pubs along the route, most famously The Trout Inn just north of Oxford.
