THE SCOTTISH HIGHLANDS
The romantic landscapes of the Scottish Highlands offer a dramatic blend of breathtaking scenery, vast wilderness and weather that can deliver all four seasons in a single day. No Highland experience would be complete without encountering the infamous midge, a tiny but formidable companion that appears during the summer months from June to August. The photographs below capture the rugged beauty of Glencoe’s mountains and loch, the spectacular road through Glenshiel, and the wild landscapes around Lochcarron and Gairloch in Wester Ross. Alongside the scenery are some of the Highlands’ iconic inhabitants including "Heilan Coos", and Red Deer during the autumn rut.
