JAPAN - KYOTO ARASHIYAMA BAMBOO GROVE

The Bamboo grove is just north west of Kyoto centre, near the Tenryu-ji temple.  The path through the bamboo grove is around 500m long.  It is one of Japan's most popular visitor sites and worth visiting in the early morning to avoid the crowds.
