This is Mt Fuji (Fujisan) and surrounding countryside from the 5th Station on its flanks at 2300m.  Nearby Hakone in the Fuji Hakone National Park is an area of densely wooded mountains and lakes.  Hakone is on the old Tokaido (highway) from Kyoto to Tokyo and was an important customs checkpoint.
