THE CHILTERNS
The Chilterns Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) extends for 45 miles, from Goring in the south to Hitchin in the north. Covering 324 square miles, it spans four counties: Oxfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire. At its widest point, the landscape stretches 12 miles across. Much of the AONB is made up of rolling farmland and ancient woodland, creating a distinctive countryside rich in natural beauty.
