This is a small selection of scanned film photographs from a 2002 trek to Makalu Base Camp capturing the dramatic Himalayan landscapes, remote mountain trails and some of the wonderful friendly people we met along the way.  The walk took us from  Tumlingtar via the Aran and Barun rivers and onto the flanks of Makalu where we erected prayer flags for the Dalai Lama to waft prayers into Tibet on the other side of the mountain.  This was an extraordinary journey through one of the world’s most spectacular and remote wilderness regions and rich cultures.
