CHILTERN HILLS

Much of the Chilterns Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty is characterised by beech woodlands, rolling farmland and picturesque villages that have remained largely unchanged for centuries.  The landscape is defined by gently undulating hills, ranging in elevation from 14 to 269 metres above sea level, with an average height of around 100 metres.
